Missouri Avenue McDonald's Torn Down for Remodel

The franchise at the corner of Missouri and Jasper should reopen in September.

If you're driving down Missouri Avenue, be prepared for a strange sight: The McDonald's that sat on the corner of Jasper Street is no longer there. A new restaurant is gradually emerging in its place.

The building was demolished to make way for a new restaurant as part of the company's nationwide campaign to refresh most of its existing locations.

The new McDonald's will look similar to the one at . The restaurant will have a double drive-thru, Largo Program Planner Jesus Niño said.

The location will be closed until Sept. 1. McDonald's plans to have a grand opening of the new restaurant Sept. 4.

The Jasper Street location is one of three new McDonald's restaurants planned for Largo this summer. McDonald's plans a brand new location at , and the is also being rebuilt.

It amazes me just how quickly these McDonalds spring up. The one near me at work here in Pinellas Park was just getting built when the one on Seminole Blvd just South of Ulmerton started breaking ground. The Seminole site was finished and open for business before the Pinellas Park site, and the two are the same size.

Let's not forget the W. Bay and Howard location; erosion controls are up, Dev. Order is signed and we just released the permits to tear it down and build the new one. This will be the fifth Micky Dee in a row!

I read in the paper that our governor turned down federal funds for mosquito eradication. DoesRead More anyone know if our mosquito control units are underfunded from this terrible decision by Governor Dumb-a-ss?

As usual government lied to us. They said if we switch over to reclaimed we will have water forRead More lawns whenever we wanted!!!!! NOT!!! Plus they didin't tell us that we would probably have to replace all valves in sprinkler system shortly after because this water isn't as clean and destroys them. You then have to put in different ones to accommodate the grit etc in the water. Same with the heads those little screens get clogged a lot more and need service more. So much for SAViNG $$$$$$ NOT
