Mega-Convenience Stores Prize Busy Largo Intersection

Three convenience store giants have staked out corners at a busy Ulmerton Road intersection in a competition to conquer the Pinellas County market.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that as many as 80,000 vehicles per day travel the crossroads of Ulmerton and Starkey roads in Largo.

The new guys on the block, or about to move in, are:

  • Thornton's convenience store, where Badda Bing Gentleman's Club had been located; 
  • Wawa gas station and convenience store on the southwest corner;
  • Rally, which is on the southeast corner.
