Holiday Gift Guide 2012: Get Gifts for Bird and Squirrel Lovers at Largo Feed

During the last 12 days before Christmas, Largo Patch will share gift ideas from a local business each day to help wrap up your holiday shopping.

Bird feeders and bird seed are popular purchases during the winter in Largo, as songbirds migrate to the Sunshine State away from the frigid-northern winter to warmer Largo.

Largo Feed has bird lovers covered with a wide range of types of bird feeders. The feeders attract various song birds and hold different types of bird seeds. Plus, there are feeders with and without squirrel baffles, depending on how people feel about squirrels eating bird seed.

For people who really love squirrels, Largo Feed sells corn-on-the-cob for squirrels. Plus, the store carries a small, wooden rocker for squirrels. So the squirrel has a spot to eat the corn.

Winter is also a popular time to buy beds for dogs and cats. Largo Feed sells toys, leashes, collars, and treats, which customers often get as stocking stuffers, store staff said.

Largo Feed also sells elk and deer antlers, which people buy as chew toys for dogs, since they don't splinter, store staff said.

Don't worry, Santa's reindeer were not hurt in the antler operation. Deer naturally shed their antlers.
