Dunedin Baker Fills Tall Order for RNC

A Dunedin woman rented out the kitchen of Sweet Caroline's bakery, so she and her team could fill an order of more than 15,000 baked items for the Republican National Convention.

When the someone approached Jacquie MacDonald, owner of Jacquie's Smart Foods, about baking 15,000 healthy goods for the Republican National Convention, she knew she'd have to find a bigger kitchen.

MacDonald's baked goods are sold at Fit Life Foods, a new Palm Harbor company that sells grab-and-go, health-conscious, pre-packaged meals and snacks.

Over the past few weeks, MacDonald, who is a Dunedin resident, rented out the kitchen of bakery in Palm Harbor, so she and her team could fulfill the large order.

MacDonald does not use animal by-products in her baked goods. She bakes a variety of health-conscious items that are gluten free and sugar free including banana or blueberry muffins and sugar-free carrot cake.

"Most of the people who eat our food have no idea it's vegan," she says.

Jacquie's Smart Foods are also sold at the Eco Bean Organic Coffee House, at 501 North Pinellas Ave. in Tarpon Springs.

What a great story about the good fortune of a deserving local businesswoman and exemplary cooperation (?)/partnering (?) between two local businesses. Cooperation CAN lead to prosperity! Sweet Caroline's is one of my favorite treats. I will be checking out Fit Life Foods and look foward to trying Jacquie's Smart Foods.

Whoa, that's a lot of muffins/baked goods! I'd say the baker deserves a vacation after this!
