Couture'd Boutique Fuses Fashion and Fun

Couture'd New & Resale Designer Boutique in Largo recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, and visiting the West Bay Drive shop, it's easy to see how it reached the milestone.

Not only does the boutique sell new and resale clothing, shoes and handbags, but it does so in a fun, entertaining way.

Walk through the boutique and you'll see Marilyn Monroe here, an M&M dispenser there, even a man cave and a shoe vault. It's all part of owner Debbie Welsh's plan.

"We cater to everyone - men, women, young, old," Welsh told Patch recently. "We like to call ourselves a new and resale fusion store because we have a little bit of everything."

Welsh opened the shop, located just off the corner of Clearwater Largo Road, in May of 2012 after she located to Florida following many years in Washington, D.C. In November she opened a second location in Gulfport.

Now that the boutique is heading into its second year, she plans on expanding its offerings by including shows and beauty, fashion and cultural events.

"We're actually changing the name to Couture'd Fusion, because that what we do - fusion means an eclectic group of things put together."

Welsh joined the recently formed Downtown Largo Merchants Association hoping that some of the positive things that are happening for businesses in the area rub off on her place.

"I'm excited about what Tanya (Pistillo) and the association is doing," she said. "It's been a real shot in the arm for all of us."

"It hasn't really gotten to this area yet. But anything we can do to help Largo businesses succeed, I'm all for it."
