Construction on Missouri Avenue Walmart Starts in November
Construction to relocate and expand the Walmart on Missouri Avenue and Rosery Road is expected to start in November.
A Walmart Supercenter planned for Missouri Avenue is expected to start construction in November.
A development order to build the nearly 119,000 square foot Supercenter that features a grocery, deli, retail and pharmacy sections was issued Aug. 28, according to city officials.
The location on the 11.25-acre site at 990 Missouri Avenue N, across the street from the current store, also will have a 4,245 square foot garden center.
There will be trees, shrubbery and pedestrian access walks. The parking lot will have 18 percent green space compared to the current lot's five percent. It will have two access points off of Missouri and two off of Rosery Road. It includes significant streetscaping along Rosery Road.
The store is expected to open in early 2014.
