1. Movie Theater to Close As Part of Tri-City Plaza Redevelopment Plans
Tri-City Plaza is expected to be redeveloped and the movie theater is not part of the future plans for the retail space. Work to redevelop the aging retail plaza is expected to start by the end of the year.
2. Strip Center to Replace Twedt’s Bowling Alley
The Largo landmark closed Labor Day. The property is expected to be redeveloped as a strip center featuring at least two restaurants.
3. Man Injured by Falling Quartz
Sergio Alvarez, 45, of Clearwater, was unloading sheets of quartz at Pyramid International in Largo when he was pinned under about 10,000 pounds of it.

4. Wawa Coming to Rosery Road
A Wawa gas station is planned as part of redevelopment of a corner of Rosery Road and Missouri Avenue.
5. Severely Abused Boxer Not Fed for Months, Police Say
Layla, a seven year old boxer, was left alone for two weeks without food or water but appeared more gaunt than that, according to Largo Police.
