'Miserable' Weather Heading Our Way

Forecasters say the Largo area is in for some heavy storms over the next few days, but things should clear up in time for some weekend fun.

By Associate Regional Editor Sherri Lonon

Batten down the hatches. Forecasters at the National Weather Service say the Largo area is in for a “miserable” start to the week.

“It’s going to be wet,” said meteorologist Andrew McKaughan. “We’re expecting quite a bit of rainfall going into Thursday. It’s definitely going to be miserable.”

McKaughan said the Tampa Bay region should see between 2 to 4 inches of rain with heavy storms and some thunderstorms anticipated daily. Courtesy of all that rain, however, daily high temperatures might not break the 90-degree mark, he added.

There is a silver lining in those clouds to look forward to, McKaughan pointed out.

“Right now Saturday and Sunday are looking pretty nice.”
