Duke Energy Tree Pruning Planned in Largo

Crews for Duke Energy will be pruning trees near electric lines soon near the Ulmerton West and Cross Bayou neighborhoods.

Falling trees and branches are a leading cause of power outages, so using a technique known as directional pruning, which is endorsed by the National Arbor Day Foundation and the International Society of Arboriculture, crews work to keep lines clear.

The majority of pruning will be on lateral lines. Some of the work will require access through rear lot areas.

Crews will be working near:

• Ulmerton West, 13018 101st St. N

• Cross Bayou, 10250 Belcher Rd

Crews are supervised by certified arborists.
