Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce Endorses Greenlight Pinellas

Safety Harbor group is tenth Tampa Bay area chamber to support the transit plan

SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. (June 20, 2014) – The Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce has announced that it has endorsed the Greenlight Pinellas transit plan, which will dramatically improve public transportation for Safety Harbor and the entire county.

The Greenlight plan includes a 65 percent increase in bus service countywide, including more night and weekend service, along with creation of a 24-mile passenger rail line from St. Petersburg to Gateway/Carillon, Largo and Clearwater.

The Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce is the tenth Tampa Bay area chamber organization to endorse the Greenlight Pinellas plan, joining the St. Petersburg Area, Clearwater Regional, Clearwater Beach, Tampa Bay Beaches, Palm Harbor, Central Pinellas, Dunedin, Greater Tampa and South Tampa chambers.  

“The Greenlight Pinellas plan will greatly improve transit options throughout Pinellas and here in Safety Harbor,” said Susan Petersen, Executive Director of the Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce. “Our community is an important connector between north Pinellas and the Gateway/Carillon area, and improved transportation will greatly benefit both our businesses and our residents.”
