Commissioner Roche meets with international delegates
Pinellas County Commissioner Norm Roche met with international delegates visiting from Afghanistan on Oct. 4. The delegates were taking part in World Partnerships Inc., which is a division of the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
Accompanied by department interpreters, the visitors toured several regions in the United States starting in Washington, D.C., and ending their 22-day visit with their final stops at the Pinellas County Courthouse in Clearwater and Clearwater City Hall.

Roche spoke to the group, stressing the importance of the Florida Sunshine Law, which addresses accountability and transparency in county government and all government levels in the state of Florida.

“It was a great opportunity to share governance concepts with representatives from another country” said Roche. “They asked insightful questions and I hope my responses added value to their experience.”
