Working Poor Weigh Obamacare Fines

With the 2014 start date for the Obamacare mandate that says Americans must have health care coverage right around the corner, The Tampa Tribune says many Bay area residents are weighing their financial options. For some of those classified as the “working poor,” paying the fines associated with not having insurance seems to be a favored option.

Cyberbullying Death Casts Light on Serious Issue

The recent suicide of a 12-year-old Polk County girl has once again brought cyberbullying into the spotlight. Polk deputies believe the suicide was prompted by ongoing bullying. The girl’s mother told the Tampa Bay Times she wished she’d paid more attention to what was happening in her daughter’s online life. Parents: Do you keep track of your kids’ online activities? With a 50 percent chance of storms in the afternoon and evening hours Tuesday, Sept. 17, it might be a good idea to keep an eye on the skies as you head out the door. The National Weather Service also says highs should reach the lower 90s.
