Alzheimer's Tour, Health Services Closed, Messy Madness

Here's a quick look at some things going on in Largo Thursday, Sept. 19.

Health Services Closed Friday

Pinellas County Health and Community Services will close its offices on Friday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. for in-service day. All offices, including the Largo location at 8751 Ulmerton Road, will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, and resume normal business hours.

Take An Alzheimer's Tour 
Find out what it feels like to have Alzheimer's or dementia at the Virtual Dementia Tour at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Grand Villa of Largo, 750 Starkey Road. The tour is designed to build awareness and sensitivity for caregivers. Find out more here.

Messy Madness Set for Saturday

The second annual Mother Son Messy Madness from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Highland Recreation Complex, 400 Highland Ave NE. Cost is $20 a couple and $8 for an additional son. Register at Highland Rec or call 727-518-3016. Check here for more information.

Streaker Has a Checkered Past

The 19-year-old Bradenton man arrested for streaking at a Tampa Bay Rays game is no stranger to hijinks-related arrests,according to the Tampa Bay Times. Charles Ross has been arrested in the past for back-flipping over a cop and for handing out wedgies at a movie theater.

He’s reportedly eaten a total of 12,000 Big Macs over a three-decade period.

More Stormy Weather Possible

The National Weather Service says Bay area residents have about a 50 percent chance of seeing scattered thunderstorms today, Sept. 19. On the upside, rain chances diminish a bit heading into the weekend.
