Run 4 the Fish 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run

 LARGO, FL (July 24, 2012) – On Saturday, September 15th the Florida Gulf Coast Center for Fishing Foundation will host a family road race at Walsingham Park, Shelter 8, in Largo, FL.  The 5k race will start at 7:30 AM and the 1 Mile Fun Run will start at 8:45 AM.  Awards and post-race party will begin at 9 AM.  Registration cost is $20 for the 5k before September 8, $25 after September 9, and $12 for the fun run.  Participants will receive a custom t-shirt, post-race party, and awards will be given to male and female overall, age groups, and Masters.  Proceeds go to the non-profit Florida Gulf Coast Center for Fishing Foundation, Heritage Village, and The Florida Botanical Gardens.

 This race is part of Pinellas County’s Centennial Celebration Weekend, with events occurring throughout September 14-17.  We will be serving Pancakes across the street at the Center for Fishing, starting at 8 AM, all you can eat for $5.

Walsingham Park is a Pinellas County treasure. It has a large lake with a boat launch, viewing decks and wide lawns. Sprawling over hundreds of acres, it has both open and secluded areas, with many picnic pavilions sharing the park with stands of native pine and oak. The park provides a fun and relaxing environment for visitors.
