2nd Day as a Florida Delegate at the DNC

This morning all the talk was about Bill Clinton's speech. As I wrote somewhere else, everyone is playing basic chords and Clinton plays jazz...be-bop at that. Where I sat, I could see his speech text on a big monitor and I could tell he was not sticking to what was written.

The evening started slow, I thought. It picked up dramatically when Cecilia Richards of Planned Parenthood spoke. She was really choked up when talking about her mother former Texas Governor Ann Richards.

Sister Simone did a great job. Did you notice she never said to vote for Obama. Fear of retribution, I guess.

Elizabeth Warren was stellar. To think this was her first convention. Her middle class roots are bona fide. This Harvard Law Professor is the real deal.

The convention continues to be a surreal experience. MSNBC is putting on show! Their broadcasts with a live audience are okay. But inside, they are having meet and greets with various hosts. I met Chuck Todd.

This morning Joe Scarborough, Mika and Will Geist walked by me. Walking around the TW Arena, I got to meet HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebellius. I saw Former RNC Chair Michael Steele, NY Senator Chuck Schumer and shook hands with Michael Dukakis.

Another odd moment: I saw Lawrence O'Donnell walking up the aisle and just a little bit ahead of him was Minn Senator Al Franken. Politics really is show business for less-attractive people!
