Woman With $950 in Cash Charged in Bealls Theft

Two employees told authorities they saw Jessica Rose Halverson switch price tags on clothes while she shopped.

A Largo woman with $950 in cash was arrested and charged with stealing $26.53 worth of items from the  on East Bay Drive.

On July 23, two Bealls loss prevention officers saw 37-year-old Jessica Rose Halverson switch price tags on clothes while she shopped, according to authorities.

Video surveillance also recorded Halverson removing price tags with her teeth from various items and placing them on items she was purchasing, according to the arrest affidavit.

She placed the tags with the less expensive amount on the items she purchased, according to the report.

The difference in price of the items was $26.53. Halverson initially denied the offense but later confessed, according to the arrest affidavit.

“She couldn’t provide a reason for it even though she had $950 on her person,” the report stated.

She was also charged with possession of oxycodone.
