Indian Rocks Beach officials are considering various improvements to the intersection of Walsingham Road and Gulf Boulevard, the Belleair Bee reports.
The project, which could cost around $700,000 to $1 million, would include improvements to the traffic pattern, beautification and improvements to an adjacent small park.
Among the changes being considered and based on residents' feedback, the Bee reports: The elimination of traffic islands; eliminating the right turn lane coming north on Gulf Boulevard, turning east onto Walsingham; and adding a crossing lane for golf carts on Gulf.
The plans will be further considered at a special meeting at 5 p.m. on April 23, the Bee reports. The project won't be finished until at least December 2014.
