What Businesses Should Come to Largo?

Wawa and Buffalo Wild Wings are coming to town. Are there other chains you'd like to see open here? What about certain types of businesses that might be lacking in Largo? Post a comment and let us know!

Wawa is coming to Largo, and so is Buffalo Wild Wings. Now we're curious: Are there other businesses or chains you'd like to see open up here?

Do you have favorite businesses that you wish would come to Largo, or Florida in general? For instance, people went nuts in Sarasota when Trader Joe's opened there earlier this month, just its second location in the Sunshine State.

And what about certain types of businesses? What are we lacking in Largo? Is there a specific business that you think would do really well here? Do you have a certain spot around town in mind?

We recently posted a story asking what should move into this abandoned storefront on West Bay Drive and got some interesting responses from readers:

  • "I'd like to see a nice restaurant or a beach oriented store. It would tie in with Largo's proximity to the beaches and could be a nice tourist stop," wrote Michelle.
  • "I believe an established chain restaurant or retail establishment could help boost downtown Largo," user SW Largo Watch/Cleanup posted. "Perhaps an ice cream shop w/seating outside, a dog friendly pub? The only issue I see is parking."
  • "A high quality fabric/quilting shop," answered Facebook fan Alison J Prata O'Grady, who also suggested a Panera Bread.

So what do you think? Post your thoughts and suggestions in the comments section below.

A Trader Joes would be heavenly! Hobby Lobby is great too, I'm leaning more in the direction of Midwestern stores however I'm slightly biased LOL.

I also agree, a beach oriented yet not tsotchke type store or a dog friendly cafe/pub. So many empty spaces, lets fill them up before building more!

I would like to see a Spaghetti Warehouse as they have the best Lasagna and a Logan's Roadhouse. A lot of if's involved. If I was younger and if I had the money I would like to open a Logan's.

An Organic/Health food store. (A nice one, that offers great produce daily). We also could use a baithouse on the way to Belleair boat ramps. Unless a large chain for an eatery like BJ'S or Cheesecake Factory, it won't make it. Again, room for such?
