Check Out the Student Code of Conduct For Pinellas Schools

Here's how students are expected to act when the 2012-13 school year starts next week in Pinellas County.

Want to know what could get your student expelled from school?

What he or she should wear, or how students are expected to act? Or your responsibilities as a parent?

Pinellas County Schools has released its 2012-13 student code of contact, and every student will receive a copy once school starts Aug. 20. But if you want a preview, here is the electronic version.

There's also a Spanish version.

Do you agree with everything in the student code of conduct? Post a comment below.

The "code" is 76 pages long with details about such things as drugs, alcohol and exposure of underwear. My sympathies go out to parents and students who are the objects of and are subject to these rules. And to teachers and administrators who determined these rules are necessary. I tried to read the whole thing but just couldn't. I doubt many will read them before they are needed or invoked in a particular circumstance. School appears to have become a very complicated undertaking for everyone involved. No more, "school days, school days, good old golden rule days. Reading' and writing' and 'rithmetic taught to the tune of a hickory stick ..."
