A sinkhole swallows a man as he sleeps in his bedroom in Hillsborough County, making national headlines.
A second one opens up just a few days later less than 2 miles away.
In Pinellas County, a smaller sinkhole opens up in front of the Largo Mall. And reports of another in a Palm Harbor neighborhood prompt the temporary evacuation of three homes.
Seems like sinkholes are popping up everywhere, leaving Largo residents and folks all over Florida uneasy and with plenty of questions. Luckily, the Florida Geological Survey has answers in the form of its online Frequently Asked Questions document.
