Update: Pinellas County deputies have announced they have arrested Terry Lamar James.

Following the incident overnight which James and Largo police exchanged gunfire, detectives began trying to locate him.

Through their investigation they received a tip on the whereabouts of James and began to conduct surveillance and followed the vehicle.

The vehicle eventually pulled into the parking lot of Sacred Heart Catholic Church on 82nd Avenue and 46th Street in Pinellas Park, a news release said.

According to the sheriff's office, James and two other people in the vehicle realized that they were being watched by deputies and exited the car. James ran away into a residential neighborhood. A foot pursuit ensued and deputies apprehended the suspect a short distance away, deputies said.

Detectives say that the suspect began enciting them to shoot him and deputies

Interesting... very interesting. No Swat team called out alike what happened recently in St. Pete? The clover leafing overhead is really starting to get annoying.

On a lighter note:

Another bit of excitement in SW Largo last night, a drunk/cracked/tatted up/wife beater wearing/one shoe man was jumping our fences and banging on doors was eventually apprehended on Gladys St.

The other shoe however has not been apprehended.
