Police: Man Removed Victim's Oxygen Mask

James Tadlock of Largo was arrested Jan. 26 and charged with aggravated battery on an elderly person.

A Largo man is accused of removing an elderly person's required oxygen mask, Largo Police said.

According to the arrest affidavit, James Tadlock, 46, allegedly "removed (the) required oxygen mask by jerking it off of (the victim's) face. This caused a minor abrasion on the tip of (the victim's) ear. (Tadlock) then grabbed on (the victim's) arms causing minor red marks that were visible," police report.

Tadlock was arrested Jan. 26 and charged with aggravated battery on an elderly person (domestic). Tadlock, who also uses the alias James Thomas Morrison, was awaiting trial in Pinellas County Jail as of Jan. 28 on a bond of $50,000, according to online sheriff's records.

The location of the incident and the name of the victim, whom the affidavit indicates was 65 or older, were not released by authorities to protect his or her identity.

Tadlock's relationship to the victim also was not released. No further information was made available.
