Water Distribution Site Will Reopen For Those Needing Water

A limited number of Largo areas are without water due to the rupture of a water main Thursday night. As a result, Pinellas County today will reopen a site to offer water for those without.

Largo residents still without water can get some relief Sunday when Pinellas County reopens a water distribution center at noon for those in need.

Due to a water line rupture in Largo Thursday night, there are a limited number of areas in Largo that were without water as of Saturday.

Not knowing when water will be restored to these neighborhoods, Pinellas County will open a water distribution site located at the Pinellas County Utilities' General Maintenance Department, 6730 142nd Ave. North in Largo, from noon-8 p.m.

The county estimates some 50 parcels, from Belleair Road to the north and Bryan Dairy Road to the south, are without water.

Work continues at the site of the break, at the intersection of 142nd Ave. North and Belcher Road. As a result, southbound traffic on Belcher Road is closed from East Bay Drive to Ulmerton Road.

A mandatory boil order is still in effect for residents south of Bellaire Road. Here are tips to deal with tap water when a boil order has been issued.
