Florida Big Leaguers Fall to SC in World Series, Game 3
The Florida District 12 all-stars lost to South Carolina in their third game at the Big League World Series in Easley, SC, on Saturday, dropping to 1-2 in pool play.
EASLEY, SC — The Southern boys of summer took to the field Saturday night at Easley's J.B. "Red" Owens Complex.
Host team South Carolina District 1 met Florida District 12 for a battle of the southeast.
After three innings, South Carolina led, 2-0.
Florida, representing the Southeast and comprised of players from Dunedin, Clearwater, Largo and Palm Harbor, broke through with a run in the fourth and tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth when Clearwater Central Catholic High's Carter Cashman doubled home Dunedin High product Jordan Savinon.
But a two-run homer from Will Hartsell gave SC District 1 the lead at the top of the seventh, and Florida was unable to catch up.

Unfortunately, it was not reported anywhere that this game was actually played under protest by SE. A player for SC District 1 used an illegal bat in the 1st inning, and 2 runs were scored using that bat. SE coach protested, but the umpires ruled the bat was legal. The second time the SC player came up to bat, the SE coach protested again - at that point, calls were made and they did confirm that the bat was illegal. The umpires would not remove the "illegal" runs scored in the 1st inning. The game was resumed and played under protest.

That team should be kicked out of the series. And to be the host team and cheat and still get to compete. What about the Little League pledge I will play fair. Guess tats southern hospitality for you. If the West wins today llblws. Wont even let sc and west have a tie breaker game. Keep calling and posting how you feel about cheating in such an important game. All us teams except SC had to climb a steep ladder to get here. Same on you little league and SC. A proud West parent
