Patch Picks: Five Best Summer Camps For Kids
Summer will be here before you know it. Plan ahead, and register your kids for summer camp. We've found five, fun camps, including martial arts, horse camp, My First Summer Camp, Fashion camp and Xtreme Sports camp.
Summer is right around the corner and it’s not too early to look for camping options for the kids. Don’t choose randomly - think about your children’s interests. Do they want a variety of activities? Are they interested primarily in art or outdoor activities? Choose one based on your child’s current interest or an area they’d like to explore.
Check with the facility to find out available hours, whether lunch or snacks are provided and if camp is offered for one week or as a multi-weeks. We searched the area to find a variety of fun summer camps. Here are Patch's five picks for kids' summer camps.
Authentic Martial Arts Super Summer Camp – geared toward kids six to 12-years-old. Campers will enjoy free martial arts, field trips, arts and crafts, games, swimming and more. Hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Camp starts June 13 to August 19, 2011. Parents need to provide lunch and two snacks. Camp fee is $119.00 if you register before March 31,2011. Country Day Horse and Adventure Camp – offers a variety of options for preschool and kindergarten kids, as well as camps for first-through-eighth grades. Campers can enjoy some of their themed camps, which focus on computer, art, equestrian, cooking, drama, science and sports. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with before and after care available. Fashion Summer Camp – girls will have fun at fashion camp, learning modeling, makeup, hair care, etiquette and other fun activities. Only half day, afternoon camps are available. My First Camp – geared toward three to five-year-olds, as first time campers. The camp will help kids with school readiness by developing social and creative skills. My First Camp is one of the 60 full and part time summer camps hosted by the City of Largo. Resident and nonresident registration begins March 5 and March 19, respectively. Some camps have mandatory parent orientation meetings. Camp dates run from June 13 through August 19, 2011. Southwest Recreation Center is located at 13120 Vonn Road, Largo, FL. 33774. Xtreme Fun Center Sports Camp – campers will have fun with daily field trips, unlimited laser tag, baseball sports instruction, daily batting practice, arts and crafts, outdoor play and an afternoon snack. Cheley Colorado Camps in Estes Park, Colorado is an awesome summer camp for children 9-17. The campers have fun with mountain and traditional camp activities while building character and leadership skills. It is a great way to meet quality people from all over the world.
