Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Late Night Crash

A 40-year-old man was flown to Bayfront Hospital with life threatening injuries after he apparently hit a palm tree on Indian Rocks Road.

Timothy Sellers was headed north on Indian Rocks Road on his motorcycle just before midnight on Feb. 15. As the road curved to the right, Sellers and his motorcycle continued straight. The motorcycle and rider, who was not wearing a helmet, left the road and hit a palm tree near Wilcox Road, according to the Largo Police Department.

Sellers was flown to Bayfront Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for life threatening injuries.  Alcohol is a factor in the crash, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing. At this point there are no indications that any other vehicles were involved, according to police.
