Midnight Structure Fire Put Out in Ten Minutes

Largo and Pinellas Park firefighters work together to put out a structure fire to a 12,000 square feet building.

Largo and Pinellas Park firefighters came together to put out a midnight a fire that spread throughout the 12,000 square feet building of Davit Master in Pinellas Park.

The blaze was put out in ten minutes.

Firefighters discovered smoke coming from the office area of the business. Davit Master manufactures boat lifts and is located at 5560 Ulmerton Rd.

According to officials, there was significant fire damage to the office, but a fire wall between the office and the manufacturing area prevented the fire from spreading.

The fire was reported by a Pinellas County Sheriff Office deputy on patrol. Largo firefighters arrived at the scene and elevated the fire to a second alarm. Pinellas Park Fire Department followed and both crews put out the blaze in about ten minutes, said Lt. Gary Berkheimer of the Pinellas Park Fire Department.

The electricity to the building was disconnected by Progress Energy. No injuries were reported. The Pinellas Park Fire Department is investigating the fire.
