Election is a Civics Lesson for Largo Candidate's Daughter

Seventh-grader Grace Robinson was helping her dad, Largo City Commission candidate James Robinson, by holding campaign signs outside one of the precincts Tuesday.

For several months now, Grace Robinson has helped distribute campaign literature for her dad, James Robinson, in his bid for Largo City Commission Seat 4 against fellow candidate Robert Hunsicker.

On Election Day, she held one of her dad's campaign signs outside of Precinct 322 near the Florida Botanical Gardens.

"It is so crazy seeing my dad's signs all over the place," Grace Robinson said.

While Grace helped at home with the campaign, the seventh-grader at Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School has civics as a a part of her school work, which included mock debates, she said.

Grace said the campaign experience has been "pretty cool, and there's lots of work behind the scenes," she said.

On Monday, Hunsicker said, he planned to stop at all of Largo's polling places on Election Day, beginning with his own polling place at Anona United Methodist.
