Man Backed Over By Pickup at Tires Plus Dies
A Clearwater man struck and reversed over outside a Tires Plus service bay on Oct. 30 died of his injuries Friday, Dec. 7, at Bayfront Medical Center.
A Clearwater man died Friday of injuries he sustained when a pickup truck backed over him a little over a month ago.
James W. Rosen was struck in a Tires Plus Total Car Care business parking lot in Largo on Oct. 30.
He passed away from his injuries at Bayfront Medical Center on Dec. 7.
He was 75.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, John Roger Driscoll Jr., 25, of Clearwater was backing a 2004 Ford F-250 out of a service bay and did not observe Rosen standing about 40 feet away, east of the service bay.
The rear of the truck hit Rosen and knocked him to the ground, where he was rolled over in reverse.
Florida Highway Patrol reports that Driscoll then pulled forward, unaware of the collision, and drove over Rosen again.
Rosen was taken to Bayfront Medical Center.
The pickup truck sustained about $10 in damages, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The investigation is ongoing.
