Imagine walking a llama as a part of your school day? Children from Largo and the Pinellas Beaches get to care for and learn about farm animals as a part of the regular school day at the Country Day School in Largo.

The Little Barn is part of the school's 9-acre campus on Vonn Road. Teacher and Barn Director Joan Poppleton has turned the barn, with its 21 animals, into an outdoor classroom. Her daughter Sara's love of horses led Poppleton to develop the hands-on lessons for children from preschool to middle school.

Watch the video to see and hear more about The Little Barn.

Want to come out to the barn? The Country Day School offers pony birthday parties, riding lessons, and summer camp opportunities.

The funny thing about shooting this was that the goat kept trying to eat my tripod while filming!
