Transportation Improvement Meeting is Thursday

The city wants to hear from you on plans for future pedestrian, bicycle, parking and transit improvements.

Through a public meeting and online survey the city wants to get transportation improvement priorities from the community. The city hopes to facilitate transportation around town for all travelers. The city is working on a 25-year multi-faceted transit plan.

Currently getting around Largo can be a challenge because of many factors:

  • lack of sidewalks or bike lanes
  • gaps or obstacles along existing sidewalks
  • inadequate transit facilities
  • low visibility crossings
  • lack of parking
  • other safety hazards

The city offers a couple of ways for you to share your views:

Not allow bikes to travel in a "pack" on 2 lane streets- example- Belleair Rd
between Missouri and Highland- on a recent Sun. am there were approx. 15-20
bikes with at least 10 cars behind trying to pass. With cars coming in opposite direction, it became very difficult to pass and several close calls were observed.
Thank goodness all were safe.
