Fundraiser at Clearwater Marine Aquarium for Fallen Largo Soldier Saturday
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium will donate part of each admission Saturday to Army Staff Sgt. Matthew Sitton's son's scholarship fund.
The community continues to support the family of fallen soldier U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Matt Sitton, including his infant son Brodey.
Sitton, 26, died Aug. 2 in Afghanistan; it was the third deployment for the Indian Rocks Christian School graduate and Largo resident.
Sitton was due home this month. On the family's last Skype conversation, Sitton told his wife Sarah how excited he was about taking Brodey to local family attractions, including the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
Friday morning Brodey got to visit the aquarium and meet Winter. The Sitton family also received a donation for Brodey's education fund from the Guys Harvey Ocean Foundation.
To help the Sitton family, the aquarium will donate $2 from each general admission on Saturday to Brodey's education fund. Uniformed members of the military will be present collecting donations for the family, as well, according to a news release.
Donations may also be made online or made to Brodey Sitton and mailed to: UBS Financial Services, 150 2nd Ave N, Suite 1000, St. Petersburg, FL 33701
