First-Time Largo Voter Loved the Independence of Voting

Aliena Cargill, 18, ended up voting by mail because it was easier but was still out at the polls Tuesday to support a local candidate.

First-time voter Aliena Cargill, of Largo, did not know what to expect with the voting process. She ended up voting by mail because it was easier. But she still came to the polls at the Old Largo Feed Store in Largo Central Park on Tuesday to support a local candidate.

"I liked voting because I could do it myself and be independent," Cargill said.

The 18-year-old took the presidential campaign process seriously, watching all of the debates.

"I definitely watched everything the presidential candidates had to say during the debates. What they planned to do and they could change," Cargill said.

Health care coverage was the big issue for the recent Palm Harbor University High School Graduate, she said.
