The candidates are Mary Gray Black and Michael Smith.
Here's what you need to know about the candidates:
Mary Gray Black
- Has lived in Largo for 43 years
- Started her 18-year career in municipal government as city clerk for Belleair Beach in 1973
- First elected to the Largo City Commission in 1975. She was re-elected to the city commission in 1978 and again in 1981. At the end of her term she chose not to run.
- She retunred to as commissioner in 2005 and was re-elected in 2008.

Michael Smith
- Born in Largo and lived in the city the majority of his life.
- Smith worked in grocery store management before becoming a Pinellas Park library assistant in 2005.
- He was promoted to senior library assistant in 2007.
- Smith was appointed by the city commission to serve in the Historic Preservation Advisory Committee for a three-year term in July 2010.
