Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee Claim Shot Down

The eatery wanted to trademark the phrase “Best Coffee in America.” The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said no. Do you agree with Dunkin’ or is there better coffee to be had right here in Largo?

Drive around Largo and it is evident there are plenty of places to get a hot cup of Joe. But who has the best?

Dunkin’ Donuts tried to stake the claim that its brew was the finest in America. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, however, just didn’t agree, according to The Boston Globe.

“Anyone at all can claim that their coffee is the ‘Best Coffee in America,’ ” trademark attorney Zick Rubin is quoted by the Globe as saying. “No one takes such a claim literally, and no one company can monopolize the phrase.”

I have to agree with their claim, but qualifying my remark as it is dictated by my own tastre buds. I'vre tried many coffee places, and none can come close to Dunkin
Donuts. No matter which location, the taste to me is the same. Besides, the names of the flavors are easy to pronounce without looking or sounding like a dunce.
