Largo Shooting Injures Two, Authorities Say

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in unincorporated Largo.

 

Two men were injured in a shooting at Handy Corner this morning, according to a news release.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting, which occurred in the 2300 119th St. North in Largo, according to a news release.

Deputies responded to the call at about 10:04 a.m. Two men were reported injured in the shooting.

The injured were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release.

The investigation is in its early stages.

While the police were searching for the suspect, Ridgecrest Elementary was put on lockdown. It lasted approximately 35 minutes. Ridgecrest teachers, staff and administrators did a great job of reassuring the children and keeping them safe.
