Largo, thanks for your support!

You helped pack the big green Patch RV with canned food donations that will help feed hungry families in Tampa Bay!

You may have seen the Patch RV rolling through town last week. We were wrapping up our month-long canned food drive with a whirlwind tour through Largo and other North Pinellas County Communities.

The food drive benefitted Feeding America Tampa Bay. Throughout the month, Largo businesses Belleair Flowers, Finley's Irish Pub, Florida Insurance Advisors, McGill's Plumbing and Ted's Luncheonette collected canned food.

Then last week, our Patch crews hopped in the Patch RV and held events in Largo and neighboring communities to coincide with the canned food drive. We gave away free coffee and Patch water bottles to people who donated canned food. We had a blast meeting everyone and we collected thousands of pounds of food!

We'd like to thank everyone who donated. We're still calculating the final weight of the food donated, but it looks like it will probably be a couple thousand pounds of non-perishable food that was collected in Largo, Clearwater, Dunedin and Palm Harbor.

Thanks so much! Because of you, our canned food drive was a huge success!
