Authorities Investigate Fatal Accident on US 19 and Ulmerton Road
A head-on collision Monday night resulted in one person dead and another seriously injured, according to state troopers.
A Plymouth Voyager was headed southbound on the ramp to US 19 from Ulmerton Road around 8:30 p.m. Monday night. Then the Voyager's driver, George Wesley Ivey, 37, of St. Petersburg made a U-turn at the end of the ramp, state troopers said.

After the initial crash, the Suzuki hit the right side of a Dodge Caravan traveling next to it on US 19, according to troopers.
Ivey was ejected from the Voyager and died at the scene. Keyes was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the Caravan, Sandra Schrotenboer, 55, of St. Petersburg, was not injured, according to troopers.
The three vehicles involved in the crash sustained about $28,000 in damage, according to a news release.
