Animal Services Extends Adoption Hours

The pet adoption center is now open from 9 a.m. until noon the third Saturday of each month.

Starting this Saturday (Feb. 18) Pinellas County Animal Services will be open on the third Saturday of the month. The extended hours are part of an effort to increase the number of pets being adopted at the shelter. The expanded hours are from 9 a.m. to noon.

Plus, Animal Services is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the adoption center closing at 4:30 p.m. Animal Services is located at 12450 Ulmerton Road. The phone is (727) 582-2600.

Can't go to Animal Services? Volunteers are also expanding adoption opportunities at local retail pet stores on Saturdays. In Largo the volunteers will be at the Petsmart, 10500 Ulmerton Rd., from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Feb. 25, March 10 and 24, April 14 and 28, and May 12 and 26.

Is your pet lost? To reclaim a lost pet or drop off a pet, visit the shelter between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The facility is closed Sunday and holidays. The lost or found pets hotline is (727) 582-2604.
