Change Up Your Workouts with Largo's Aqua Zumba Classes
The City of Largo Aquatics Division is offering a new high energy water exercise class with music called Aqua Zumba. Beginning June 2, classes will be offered at the Highland Family Aquatic Center (400 Highland Ave, Largo 33770) on Saturday mornings at 8:15am and Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm.
Zumba is a Latin inspired cardio/dance workout with music that conditions and tones the body. Adding water resistance to Zumba allows individuals to receive a more intense cardio-based workout while in a low-impact environment. Instructors Tiffany Godfrey and Veronica Abdo will lead the class in the multipurpose pool.
Aqua Zumba is conducted in 4 feet of water so no swimming skills are required but one should be comfortable in waist deep water. Participants must be a minimum of 12 years of age. As with any exercise program, check with your doctor before starting. A city employed lifeguard will be on duty during all class times.
Aqua Zumba is a drop-in class, no preregistration required or punch cards accepted. Classes are $5 per person for Largo residents, $6.25 for non-residents or $9.25 for guests. For more information, visit LargoPools.com or call (727)518-3018.
